That's unfortunately a pretty common user experience on Mac. I haven't been able to figure out where is the disconnect between Launch Services and GnuCash after Gatekeeper verification is complete. Gatekeeper also fails to remove the com.apple.quarantine xattr from the app bundle and that caused

I can confirm this on 3.906 (4.0 beta) using various methods of printing invoices. (it doesn’t seem to matter if it is ‘easy’ invoice or not) I also tried exporting to HTML and then printing to PDF, but that too generates an extra page. I haven’t yet tested with 3.5–3.7 to see what the differen

I have a thread on the -devel list about this. There is an emoji visibility issue with GTK integration on MacOS. (the paperclip and chain-link symbols are in the emoji section of Unicode) I thought a change was made to skip the symbols on Mac and always use the fall-back lettering (‘f’ and ‘w’)

That’s probably a different issue entirely. I just ran the General Ledger Report, and used both ‘Export' (which is HTML) and ‘Make PDF’ both of which worked fine without extra blank pages. (I’m now on 3.906 on MacOS 10.15.5) I haven’t yet jumped to 4.x but will tonight. I’ll see if I can test w

To clarify: For anyone not on MacOS, (or on a system that doesn’t support that emoji block of characters) you should be able to see the symbols (paper clip icon for single associations, and chain-link/URL icon for location associations) but only if you have View > Double Line mode turned on. Y
