Have upgraded to 3.8. The font on the Accounts pages is too small to read
comfortably. But I cannot find any place in Preferences or elsewhere to
increase the font size. Help appreciated.
I see earlier posts giving a fix for Windows. I am looking for advice on how to
fix this on a Mac.

Thanks for the response Frank. Trouble is I'm 78 and don't know any programing.
The instructions are confusing and I don't understand where to put the file.

There is no preference.
You have to edit a config file. (it is not created by default)
Search the wiki for “GTK3”

It belongs in:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash
I don’t recall if the Win7 version of Notepad can create proper plain text
files, but I think so. (don’t use Wordpad)
Place the following in the file:
* {
font: 14pt arial, sans-serif;
}
Save the file as: gtk-3.0.css
If GnuCash was still
Excellent, thank you Adrien.

Here is the confusing part that I see
You say C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash\gtk.css
Do you put the CSS here to override the built-in ?
I do have it in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\gtk-3.0\gtk.css
Why is it here and not the other, I don't know. Maybe from upgrading from a

There is no ‘built-in’ CSS for GnuCash. You have to create the file. If it
already exists, that means you created it long ago.
The first location will apply to only GnuCash.
The second will apply to all GTK apps you have installed on the system.
The GTK3 page of the wiki should explain it more

Well, if it's that simple then just hit me over the head with a wet fish
and say "D'oh!"
I have re-saved the file. Waiting to get some fresh transactions from
the checking account to import in order to see if that does the trick.
Should have some in the morning. Fingers crossed. Thanks, all---

Hi,
I am trying to generate a General Ledger which lists all the transactions
for the period, opening balance and closing balance for each account and or
subaccount.
Can someone guide me through the General Ledger process to achieve this,
please ?

Adrian
Is this a duplicate question?
Something very similar appeared on this list just a few days ago.
GnuCash *is* the ‘general ledger’.
Certainly, you can run a transaction report showing whatever you need. (among
many other reports)
Opening balance transactions are common for people with pre-exist
I see now this, is indeed, a duplicate question.
You asked it on March 12 @ 6:44pm CDT. I replied with something similar to

Rather than continuing that thread, or answering any requests for more
clarifying information, or any indication you have determined the included
Hi Adrien,
In other accounting software, the General Ledger gives the ending balances
for each of the accounts which are then posted to the Balance Sheet..
For example, the General Ledger would give details of all transactions
between the opening balance and the ending balance for a particular

There are no specific ‘ending balances’ except the balance as of the last
transaction in any account.
The details between that and the opening balances are simply every transaction
in that account. There is no other ‘detail’ or ’summary’ that is relevant or
even available in *any* software.

If you mean you want to see the individual transaction activity in your
accounts related to a single customer, yes.
If you just want to see the balanced owed by all customers, you can use the
Accounts Receivable report. (each customer can be listed separately, along with
a total)
