I am a newish user running GC (3.3) on Windows 10.
I have set up the quotes apps so that I can pull quotes from bthe command

Then I don't understand your narrative about "The accounts come up...". You
should be going to the register for the Fidelity checking account and using
"Actions>Online Actions>Get Transactions". There should be no account selection

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "add a savings account to the
current checking account". Is you have a checking account and a savings
account I would expect those to be separate accounts rather than one being
in some way part of the other.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my explanation. The accounts all came up when I
setup the online banking and I liked the checking account to the proper
gnuCash account. Fur that reason, I assumed that the settings were all
correct.
Are there other settings related to pulling the transactions?
On Sun,
I've been using alpha advantage to download quotes for some time now.
However, it fails with message: "unable to retrieve quotes for these
items." The list includes all my securities. Is there a new development
with alpha advantage that I should know about?

So Fidelity is rejecting the request. That may be because there's something
wrong with your credentials, but it would usually say that. More likely is that
they've changed some requirement. It's often the Quicken compatibility version.

Hi.
A few days ago I was able to do my first successful CSV import on my GNC 3.3

I then spent a week preparing a much larger import. The CSV file is

Steven,
AlphaVantage stopped working for those of us with more than a few
securities several months ago when they started throttling services. Some
of us have also had issues after downloading release 3.3 or so of GnuCash.
