Roy,
What is the name of your data file and where do you have it stored? If all
the accounts are devoid of transactions, are they all present?
Did you look for the backups that are mentioned in the online FAQs?

Hi All,
I had configured GnuCash to fetch stock prices with a single quote source
set to "Yahoo Australia". Like many others on this list, this stopped
working recently when Yahoo discontinued their service.
After trying a few things, I noticed that the following works:
$ gnc-fq-dum

Thanks for your efforts, Thomas.
FYI, there's a somewhat dormant gnucash-fr list that might also be
helpful. (I suspect you know, but just in case.)
For others: France is a particularly weird case, because (1) we have

I'm not sure. I'll check that tonight and let you know. I switched everything

I have just obtained the API key from ALPHAVANTAGE, but I do not have a
clue how to add it to my LinuxMint or MacOs. (I am not technical) :-[
Could someone please walk me through this process, so I can begin
updating stock and currency prices?
Thanks,

Hi Les,
have a read of the FAQ - there is a recently added bit about adding the API
key.

On linuxmint 18.2 (likely most linux distributions) the prefix /usr listed
in wiki is not correct. It should be empty, i.e., /etc/gnucash/environment
is the file.

Having re-read the FAQ, I think it may just be a time-out problem. I may
have to change the cron job to the middle of the night - at least until
there's a change in gnucash that will recognize this and allow for the
extra time.
Thank you, once again,

I successfully added the API to Linux MInt 18.2. (I used sudo xed to add
the key. After, I used Security Editor to change my stocks to
Alphavantage.) Thanks for the pointers.
How do I make the entry on MacOS 10.13? I am rather new to Mac so I

Sorry, I had left the other TIAA funds using the TIAA source but had
accidentally set QREARX to use AlphVantage. Switching it to using TIAA as the
source works again.

For anyone who has been following this thread, and especially for Erik:
The problem turned out to be a couple of stocks that I no longer hold
but are still in the table for historical reasons, whose quote
assignments were incorrect. All good now.

Thanks, that worked. Now I'm good to go on both systems.
Thanks to all.

I am using GnuCash 2.6.16 and Finance-Quote 1.45 (linux). US stock

Thanks for airing this out a little more.
I had not succeeded in getting this to work, mostly because I didn’t understand
