Here is an example of what I am trying to do. My expenses in gnucash
have items that look like:
Expenses
Auto
Gas
Service
When I look in the mysql accounts table I can find the record containing
Service but no easy way to find Expenses:Auto:Service. The record
containing Service in
If you use joins on the guid values to the parents then you should be
able to get them directly using the appropriate queries.

I am playing with variables and formulas in scheduled transactions. I
created a test SX using the example shown here
(https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Scheduled_Transactions#Bank_Account_Interest).
When I tried to save the SX, GnuCash gave me an error message saying
that it couldn't parse the form
Thank you Christopher. What I'm looking for is the aggregrated items
report. Hope this is in the roadmap.

Hello,
Just to let you know, I have updated the list of github projects with
gnucash in their description:
http://piecash.readthedocs.io/en/latest/doc/github_links.html
Python is the front runner language in terms of # projects followed at some
distance by perl and Java.
Kind regards,
Sébastien

Is there any way to rename a budget so that when you "Actions->Budget->Open
Budget" you see a new name for the budget?
I've tried "Actions->Rename Page" but that does not change the name of the
budget. Google nor my searching of this forum yielded any help.
TIA

Frank,
There is still a problem with Gnucash on your computer because it should
not be crashing.
It may be somehow related to the account named Trading that GnuCash
created. Normally, GnuCash will only create that account for users that
know that they want to use a special feature that is there
I forgot to mention that there is a setting somewhere called "Use Trading
Accounts" that turns that feature on or off. I think it is mentioned
somewhere in the documentation.

I can't find the documentation to tell me where to put the help files. I put
them in the same dir as the program but when I click on help, I am told it can
not be found.

What O S are you installing into and what version are you installing?
The help files come along automatically in Windows and most Linux packages.
