I have tried to print a check register by using the tranaction, and
account in reports.
I have several split transactions and in the report it indicates a
split transaction.
Is there a way to print the items in the split?
Thank you in advance

Play around with the Transaction Report and the Account Report. One of
those should be able to show what you want.

If you just want the data (not the exact green/yellow layout), you can use the
Account report on an open register.

Florence,
There is no facility within GnuCash to print a screen AFAIK. It is probably
easiest to use a screenshot facility in your OS.

On Mac, the system print dialogue includes a write to PDF option, and you can
install a CUPS-PDF printer driver. I think there are alternatives as well.
Microsoft used to have a Microsoft Print to PDF option for its printer drivers.
Depending on you OS, install one of these, and specify it as yo

Hi Glen,
The change in behaviour comes with the upgrade to webkit2 (which was forced on
us due to
deprecation of webkit1 on linux distros).
The newer webkit2 no longer provides the option to generate a pdf directly from
a report. So as

TL:DR - Linux Version of GnuCash v3.4: "Print" and "Make PDF" now do the same
thing on my new install. Do I need an extra plugin or something so that
"Make PDF" saves directly to pdf without "printing" and generates a filename
from the Invoice number and date? (like it used to for me )

I believe if you use the transaction report and choose the checking account
you want in the account options and the time period you want it for - this
should give you a pretty close check register for the account.
Select reports - t

Sadly, it isn’t a bug. The standard makes it optional whether HTML renderers
do the right thing around breaking pages at paragraph breaks or row breaks in

You’re welcome. I forgot that browsers tend to render the page correctly. So if
you’re just printing without further manipulation, you might find a shorter
workflow by going that route as Victor noted.

Because it is a problem wit WebKit, the workaround I use is to save it as HTML
and then open it in a browser that handles it properly. Some do, some don’t.
It’s an optional feature in the standard.

I seem to recall this issue in previous threads, perhaps a list search might

If memory serves, this is a problem with webkit which renders the page, and
