not instantaneous then either you're trying to keep that file on a remo
It's not some optional feature that you can turn off. The "lock" is a
sentinel file, to prevent you (or multiple people) from carelessly
opening multiple copies of the same file at the same time.
But normally the lock file is created in an instant, or if one already
exists you get a failure messag

Create an *Asset* account labeled something like, ‘Allowance for Doubtful
Accounts’.
You can place it as a child of the official Accounts Receivable account if you
like, or create a new parent labeled ‘Other Accounts Receivable’ and place it
