Double clicking the titles is far easier, but the manual should be complete. David Carlson On Sun, May 5, 2019, 10:38 AM David T. wrote: > Well, look at that! It does work now. I’m pretty sure that’s a change. I > will note that it is still quite picky, getting the correct cursor without > hitt

Well, look at that! It does work now. I’m pretty sure that’s a change. I will note that it is still quite picky, getting the correct cursor without hitting the scroll bar. And, as you note, moving to the right from the far right can be counterintuitive or even impossible. I think I’ll stick with

The double click did it for the balance column - thanks all.  I was trying to do it by pulling the left edge over, and it just mucked up every other column.  The other columns did have grab-able edges, so I did not expect the balance one to be different. - Elmar _

Grabbing the right-hand border of the Balance Column and dragging it right or left still works, at least on MacOS. That assumes that one can drag right, of course. If the GnuCash window is on the right edge of the monitor, as is the case in fullscreen mode, then there's nowhere for the pointer t

The real problem comes if you use the program on two different monitors with different resolutions and/or different default text sizes. In one case you will want extra space to the left so that it is still ok on the other monitor. Double clicking doesn't leave extra space on the left. On Thu, Ma

Note that Section 2.3.3 of the Guide includes the following: Note In the register windows, you can resize the various columns that GnuCash displays, but keep in mind that the Description and Balance columns behave differently from other columns. The Description column is designed to expand auto

Every column except the description can be adjusted by grabbing and dragging the right edge with the mouse. The balance column is a little harder to do that way, but the double click method usually makes an acceptable width. For the Description drag the right edge left until the horizontal scrollb

For some reason I can't seem to expand the column width for the account balance (e.g. a bank cash money market account, last column in the register) - it will only display 5 places in front of the decimal point.  Is this a bug? GC Version: 3.5 Build ID: git 3.5+(2019-03-30) on Linux Mint 19.1
