Sorry for the late reply, I don’t think your reply made it to the list. (I

I see now you’ve installed the Flatpak. When you mentioned you installed from
the Software Center, I guessed the standard version. I f
I removed the CX from the gif and I am now able to import the gif files.

Derek already explained the errors, but for completeness and future
reference:
Simply type `gnucash` at the command line. You may see some messages
there which might be helpful, otherwise see the wiki about where the
tracefile is stored on your system.
