Richard, I got a similar error with some scheduled transactions. It
seemed to occur when there was a comma in one of the entries. Didn't
matter which back-end I was using. Couldn't find a preference related
to commas. However, removing the commas stopped the error. My problem

I've been using Gnucash for years. This problem started late last
year. I open my file and add a transaction, then the next time I try
to open it I get the attached error.
Seems that when I can open it, if I save it as a new file, it will open
