Yes, that's what I meant.

Sounds like an account was deleted and the transactions not moved, or
moved somewhere not expected.

If you have something weird going on that affects just YOU (other users
are not having this problem) it is almost certainly not a bug.

Before getting too far in the weeds with other possibilities, I'd
caution to closely examine your accounts/transactions first,
particularly if you can hazard a reasonable guess as to when you first

Thanks for the responses!
I’ve been running this version:
Version: 4.11
Build ID: 4.11+(2022-06-25)
for a few months, on an iMac M1, Montery 12.5.1.
Yes, I see this in the register window. As well, the Accounts tab that has the
tree of accounts, shows that account as having the wrong value $6
For what it’s worth, I used MS Money for years, even the sunset edition. My
database became unstable and I saved myself a few times by restoring a backup.
You should certainly have those with GnuCash.

I've not seen this problem (I've been using GnuCash for 6 years, and my
data files is about 1.6M).
Have you done a file verification?
Do you routinely update GnuCash as updates come out?

Hi all,
I just joined this group to report this problem. I’ve been using GnuCash for
more than 15 years and I’ve never before had a problem with it.
It does have more than 15 years of data in it, the file size is 2.4MB.
When I opened it a couple of days ago, some of the accounts were messed up.
