Before getting too far in the weeds with other possibilities, I'd caution to closely examine your accounts/transactions first, particularly if you can hazard a reasonable guess as to when you first saw the balance go awry. From near that point, find a transaction with the allegedly correct ba

Over the years my most serious problems with GnuCash or even other programs like office or spreadsheets have often been traced to hardware problems like running out of hard drive space or RAM, etc. It's worth trying to eliminate such possibilities while you still have good backups off line. On Sa

Thanks for the responses! I’ve been running this version: Version: 4.11 Build ID: 4.11+(2022-06-25) for a few months, on an iMac M1, Montery 12.5.1. Yes, I see this in the register window. As well, the Accounts tab that has the tree of accounts, shows that account as having the wrong value $6

For what it’s worth, I used MS Money for years, even the sunset edition. My database became unstable and I saved myself a few times by restoring a backup. You should certainly have those with GnuCash. > On Nov 5, 2022, at 2:53 PM, R Losey wrote: > > I've not seen this problem (I've been usi
