Oh ok, I see. Thank you very much for all the information (also the tip about
mailing lists, I never used them before)!
It would be great to see a renew in GnuCash, it’s such a powerful and
well-designed program that’s a pity to use it with the feeling of using
something a bit “clumsy”. I mean,
Never mind. I didn't read carefully enough once again. The OP didn't
want to change their locale away from Belgium.

Not sure I follow. If the OS is set to en_US, why would GnuCash choose a
different one? How would it even determine a different one?

I am using x2 scaling on windows and the issue appears to be exactly the

I was able to get the same effect with a screenshot on my MBP Retina.

rendering. I have this problem on Windows.

Unless I'm looking at a different screenshot, or my eyesight is terrible
(certainly possible) I read all of the column headings the same, and
just fine. They are slightly more bold than other parts of the UI, but
no less 'sharp'.
Note, I'm using a standard DPI monitor with a large screen. (192
I think it’s the column headings Gabriele’s referring to.

The screenshot you provided showed absolutely everything in the register
blurred out. (the rest of the UI is clear though) If that is the way it
normally looks, something is certainly wrong. (that is, if you didn't
obscure the register fields for privacy) Otherwise, I'm not sure what
