This has been happening to me as well since 4.4.
It seems input is still being read by GnuCash, but any response to the
input (e.g. updating the transfer account list or even echoing the
characters typed) is being blocked. I've found that pressing tab to
move to the next field, then pressing shift
It was introduced in 4.0 and described in the release notes like this:
• New type-ahead search added to sequential search when selecting an
account in the register: Instead of typing the first few characters of a
top level account, the separator, the first few characters of the next
level account
Apparently the feature to filter accounts described by Robin is something
that I do not see in release 3.8. Is that described somewhere in the Help
manual?
