I am slowly wrapping my head around things, kinda stuck on a question
about accounting for unsold inventory. Say I bought 10 widgets, for 100
each, my cost of good sold is 1000; I sold 6 for 140 each. My sales is
840, but my cost of good sold is only 600, not 1000, How do I account
for the 4 re
trying to add a few more accounts after using the wizard, and starting
to enter transactions, I realized I missed a few..tried the help
file, I must be missing how do I add an new account?

I dont have another asset account,yet...soon I will have a business

Try creating Owner's Capital as a sub of the parent: Equity instead.
Also, what version of GnuCash and what OS?

Starting a new business. For the next month or so, what few bills I have
will be paid by me, until I get my business checking set up. Its been
years since I studied double entry accounting, but I thought if I paid a
bill for lets say 100.00, I would credit my owner account for 100.00 and
debit
new user here, seems like all the files are in my document storage
folder, I'd like to move them to their own separate folder, is that
possible?
