Cannot help with Cheques (We have not used them in Australia since Adam was a
boy!, except for big business)
but it is great to see another PCLos user. (I have been using PCLos since Tex
left Mandrake)

Hi,
you will find those transactions next time you reconcile that account (or its
transfer to account reconciliation)
You can also search for cleared but not reconciled transactions I think.

As an aside, tracking vehicle costs will become harder when one plugs in at
home (EV) & wants to be re-imbursed. The issue is the tax collectors need an
audit trail. Here in Australia it seems it might be easier to merely claim

I am no expert, but this sounds similar to Australia. I have set up transaction
reports (that I then ´saved´ the configuration)
that has the relevant accounts or sub-accounts selected. Then in ´general´
there is an option for start date & end date.
Set these to start & end of Tax year (1 July t
I am not an accountant, but have rental properties in Australia.
I use the second method. In Australia all the income costs are
lumped together on our return. (but you will need to have the data
if you are audited!).
I use the method of rents being scheduled to a ´rent due´ for each

That is one reason why PCLinuxOS is good: one of the developers uses Gnucash,
so the latest is usually available!

Thank you to all the developers)

That is the way I do it too Liz. First Schedule is entered transaction (can
even be post dated), then Schedule starts at the transaction after.

Ditto for the Kudos! My start date was August ´99. Always found everyone
helpful, & thank the developers.

Check the rounding is set to 2 decimal places.
Might be that easy!

Thanks. I had found that link before (but will revisit it)
What I would like is a report I could hand to the tenant (monthly,
or 3 Monthly) that had all income & recompense due to that tenant
with a total credit or debit at the bottom ie rent in advance, or

The only issue with this tracking for business use is that some can be income
related. I have an issue tracking rental property income: I need to work
out a way of only having rent payment as income (cash accrual), but being
able to generate reports that track rental payments with the property r
As a comment, I feel not having an easier form of tracking is something
that possibly might be fixed in the future. I have Rental properties,
& tried to set up an AP & AR for them but found it a bit daunting.
(Awfully hard to undo too!). I do need a rental management system
though. Most renters
Here is a bit of a left field answer: Why not try PCLinuxOS?
You can download a copy & install it on a bootable USB stick (or similar). Once
booted,
you can load GnuCash from the repository & try it. The current version in the
repository is 5.10. Then if the W10 Gnucash file is readable, you coul
To add, it is easy to edit a saved report: (Linux: Edit>Report Options)
I use this to:
-Change the date range for report.
-Add/remove accounts to appear.
-General cleaning up reports eg columns shown.
I use this to give my Rental tenancies a payment report.
I also use saved reports to prepare
As a user, I can only say most problems I have found like this can be caused
by changes in another account that affect the subject account (ie where the
money is transferred to/from). What I usually do is look at the unreconciled
balance then look for the amount. Also, any changes I might have m
My fellow PCLinuxOS users would like to thank the team
for the latest version of Gnucash (as a user, I have been
using Gnucash since a very, very early version).
I really appreciate the work & effort the GnuCash team
puts in. I just wish my Bank would embrace OFX (export)
QIF has been a problem
I can only speak from my experience (Long time but no accountant!).
I gave up on Quicken (QIF) imports. This is a proprietary format,
so my suggestion is to avoid if at all possible.
My preference is .OFX format, which is an open standard, or .csv
which is a little harder, but works well. (One
