measure the project's "goodness" is quite likely an exercise in subjective

This is because, unlike most options boxes I have seen, the gnucash
invoice report options do not remember their settings at all.

rally, since invoice.scm changes each release (and sometimes changes
pathnames), this has to be done on each upgrade of gnucash.
Given that background my question is this: are there ever any plans to change
gnucash's behavior so a default set
doing just that.

I can apparently install 4.2 on win 7. Has anyone else done this? Are there any
gotchas I should be aware of?
The alternative is to have 3.11 read 4.2's datafiles. I'm not sure that would
go well, but maybe it would?
