Where it always is on Mac applications: In the application (Gnucash) menu, and
since macOS 14 itโs called Settings instead of Preferences.

Ah, at minimum have another full copy of the operational hard drive lying
around ๐, which implies backing up everything.
Windows provides a free tool for backing up an image of the running machine on
a scheduled basis as well as files & folders backup, and good old "dd" (disk
duplicate) command

I've added VT security in my Security Editor. I've chosen to have it
automatically updated using Alpha Vantage, for which I got an API key.
Now, some instructions I found tell me to go under "Edit - Preferences" but
on MacOS with GnuCash 5.9 there's no such menu option. So my first question
