I've blocked emails from Jira to my account, because everything I post in this thread has generated new junk messages. My guess is that someone has a GC subscription and when the GnuCash-user message meets certain criteria all these junk messages get generated. If it's not deliberate spam, it's po

I received the email shown below shortly after entering a GC bug. I've never heard of this Jira, and when I clicked the link it wanted me to create an account. The bug report itself has an "Importance" field, so I am skeptical of Jira's asking me to "proceed with the requirement prioritization.".

No, that's what a placeholder is, an account with restricted posting. There is no combination of placeholder *with* transactions, though marking an account as a placeholder does not empty it of existing transactions. Those have to be reassigned manually. (so it is possibly to have a placeholder
