I tried to upgrade from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 20.04 . There was some file corruption which was difficult for me to fix so I wiped the hard disc clean and installed a fresh version of Ubuntu 20.04 .
Gnucash 3.8 is packaged with Ububtu 20.04. F:Q 1.49 is included with GNC 3.8 . I have tried and failed to install F:Q 1.58 . I have entered the following commands : cpan App::cpanminus sudo install CPAN sudo apt-get -y install cpanminus I then ran : sudo cpanm Finance::Quote This failed in many places. Examples of the errors are : > Working on IO::String Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/G/GA/GAAS/IO-String-1.08.tar.gz ... OK Configuring IO-String-1.08 ... OK ! Can't configure the distribution. You probably need to have 'make'. See /root/.cpanm/work/1701665853.37486/build.log for details. --> Working on ExtUtils::Config Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/L/LE/LEONT/ExtUtils-Config-0.008.tar.gz ...
