Maybe. What happens if you fix the directory name?
You said that you'd been successfully connecting with pgsql14. Was that with an
older version of GnuCash too?

I reloaded GNUCash 4.1. I could save and load my file as a Postgres 16 sql
database. There was a folder created:
Version 4.1: "C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\lib\postgresql"
I noticed in the program folder directory for 5.3 that postgres had a
