For what it's worth, I'm not seeing any problem with 4.7-2 on my 2017 Intel
iMac OS Big Sur 11.6.

Here's the thread 0 (the crashed thread) stack trace, machine registers
and instruction stream from the crash report. I think that's probably
everything relevant in the report.

Thanks, Dustin.
I get the crash on exit whether I have made changes to the data in
Gnucash or not.
To clarify - my MacPro is Intel, not M1.
The problem with the incorrect binary at release was that the macOS
4.7-1 .dmg contained Guncash 4.6. I downloaded the 4.7-2 release that
contains the
I seem to be consistently getting a Gnucash crash when I exit (using
either Gnucash>Quit or command-Q) from Gnucash 4.7-2 on my Big Sur
MacBook Pro. Caused by a Segmentation Violation.
Here's a snippet from the macOS log of the crash:

Yeah, we're going to do a snap release tomorrow. I've already tagged it and
built the tarballs.

Everyone - just wanted to say thanks to each of you who took time to give me a

I send my thanks to the group that writes and maintains this software. I have
used it since version 2.6.1 at least. I've used or at least played with
Quicken, Quickbooks, NPTreasurer, and probably a few others. Gnucash is ahead
of them all for my purposes.
Thank you,

Thanks John and gang. I went into Gnucash > File > Open. I had a list
of files from when I first installed the program last year. I went down
to the end of the list and clicked on the data file and bingo, we're
back in business. Easy and painless. I then closed Gnucash and
reopened it and
To retrigger the settings migration (and hence recover all your settings) you

Your book is probably right where you left it. GnuCash 4.7 changes the

the migration failed in your case. The last file and file history are kept in

Hi all,
I upgraded my gnucash to ver. 4.7 The uninstall of ver 4.5 went smoothly as
did the installation. . . until the end. My computer froze and I had to do a
cold reboot. So I reinstalled ver 4.7 and opened gnucash, it thought that I
was a new user.
So where is the data file and what is

My congratulations and thanks to the Team for the production and release of
GNUCash version 4.7. As this development is all done by professional
volunteers, I really do say a hearty 'thank you’ for your effort and for
allowing this to be open source. Much appreciated.
Best regards.

4.7.2 dmg was uploaded about 6 hours ago and contains the correct 4.7
version so you’ll need to repeat the download and use the updated one.

Hi all,
Is there any document on how to run python scripts with the gnucash flatpak
package? I have some customized Python scripts that interactive with gnucash

Thanks!

Unfortunately this is a bug. I missed a name change in the conversion code for
gnucash preferences.
The fix is in the patch attached.
As this is a crasher we may have to do a hotfix release. What do you think
John ?
