You normally specify the name when Saving a report. What name did you use?

Please help:
I've been using Gnucash for years. This problem started late last
year. I open my file and add a transaction, then the next time I try
to open it I get the attached error.
Seems that when I can open it, if I save it as a new file, it will open
and I can update. Then the next open,

I looked and the invoice shows Income:Sales as you said it should.

Do you have a backup of the database from before these entries? If so,
can you restore that database to that state and start over?
Note: if there have been a lot of other transactions entered in the

That was my idea as well, just wanted to check, maybe there is a more
elegant way.

Hi Derek,

Manually, but in a reverse order.

Well all entries in "Expenses" are in "Rebate" column,
and all entries in "Income" are in "Charge" column.
So I believe all of

Dear all,
I need to reverse all transactions in a relatively large database.
Something like "Increase <-> Decrease" for all entries.
Is there any effective way to do it? Maybe, is it possible to
operate on sqlte-database directly?
Thanks

I'm running GC 4.4
I'm having trouble generating a tax report that includes paid invoices.
I'm not an accounting heavy-weight so I'm likely doing something wrong,
but I don't know what it is.
I created an invoice for a customer and posted it.
What I see is the money went into AccountsReceivable
Could be, but definitely something particular to your transaction, your
book, or your computer.
I just created another test SX transferring $1 from my wallet to savings
set to auto-create 3 days in advance, and notify me on creation. I set
it for 2/14/21. I then closed GnuCash and restarted.
Gareth,
Can you provide a screenshot of the incorrect report?
Can you describe *exactly* how you want it to look?
That report has lots of options. The default sorting is by Account Name,
then by Register Date for the current accounting period. (default for
which is 'This Year')
Also, please
I think its all in the timing.
I ran GNC on 2/5. The transaction read created 2/5 - but didn't appear.
The setting was enter 3 days in advance which it seems it can't/didn't do.
Shut GNC down and reopen days later and it was there. Its not that big a
deal but its a bug for sure.

I haven't checked.
I'd be happy to file one for you, but I can't reproduce the problem. All
of my SXs show up when they are supposed to and appear in the register
as they are supposed to. I've also created some test transactions and
they also worked correctly.
Something is either specific to
Running "/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64
--command=gnucash --file-forwarding org.gnucash.GnuCash
--logto=$HOME/gnucash.trace" in a terminal window invoked GC fine.
Opening the saved reports item, then trying to delete a report results
in this output in the terminal window:
Ok, the branch specification is probably important.
You can try as follows:
/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=gnucash --file-
forwarding org.gnucash.GnuCash --logto="path-to-log-to-or-stdout"
My mail client splits this line up, but the command should be all on one line.
The menu item cals GC via "/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable
--arch=x86_64 --command=gnucash --file-forwarding org.gnucash.GnuCash @@
%f @@"
And this is the first (and only) flatpak I have ever installed. I
installed Flatseal so GC could find my data files as well, of course.

In that case the first thing to do is to figure out how exactly your system
calls the flatpak version of gnucash. There are quite a few subtle details
that may affect this.
You can examine the menu entry to figure out what command is being run
exactly.
Out of curiosity have you been removing i
Trying "flatpak run org.GnuCash.gnucash --logto=$HOME/gnucash.trace"
does not invoke the program and instead gives me
"error: app/org.GnuCash.gnucash/x86_64/master not installed"
Which is very odd, since it runs from the menu system fine.

I think I have tried every tick box without having any luck.
