I have searched high and low for information on how GnuCash 'remembers
transactions' in checking account registers when importing.
My situation is that I have 3 business checking accounts and when I do my
monthly (haha) importing of .qif files, only one of the accounts 'remembers'

Under: Right click on account name: Edit Account
Under Smallest fraction: I changed it to: Use Commodity Value
I had this set to 1/100, (and tried 1/1000 and 1/1 with no change).
Changing to the Use Commodity Value did the trick.

Another place to check is the properties of the security account under the
brokerage account.
