#1 yes (see the wiki about storage locations for your operating system)
#2 I don't think you can change it, buy you can add it to your
GoogleDrive sync list.

The GnuCash file entityA.gnucash is saved on Google Drive.GnuCash is installed
on both pcX and pcY at locations X and Y.
Google Drive is sync'd on both pcX and on pcY...So the entityA.gnucash file is
available locally on both computers hard drive.
This way work can be done from either location.
It does not appear to be possible.
At best for now, I would recommend running a Budget Report, exporting,
then you'll have it for reference for the new file. You will still have
to type in each amount however. (You can copy/paste, but only one cell
at a time. Though it looks like a spreadsheet
There is one other option, but it might cause issues elsewhere.
As you noted, there is a column you can show for 'Present/Balance/Total
(period)' Total would be what you want for a delta. Then go to
Preferences > Accounting Period and set explicit dates to whatever
'yesterday' and 'today' are
That will suffice for my need at the moment. I’ll try it out and if there are
any question then I’ll pose them to the list.
It would be great to include this capability, if possible, in the future
release as cycles permit so daily deltas can be seen at a glance when launching
GNUCash.
Easiest process would be to generate a daily-resolution table, then
post-process in spreadsheet.
e.g. from Asset/Liability/Income/Expense Chart
General/Start date: start of this month
General/End date: today
General/Step size: day
Display/Show table: enabled
Run report
This generates a chart and
David,
I thought about using reports as well, but the OP clearly mentions a "delta"
between days, suggesting that they may be looking for data entered out of
sequence. Such data wouldn't be accurately displayed in a time slice report.
To truly get a delta, I imagine one would have to process
Hi,
Each year I export my account structure and create a new empty database
with it, at which point I insert starting balances.
I am using Gnucash extensively for for budgeting, and would like to know if
it is possible to transfer the budget amounts from the old year to the new
year.
