Thank you David,
It is a simple split for interest I receive once a month and is credited to
my bank account - nothing complex. As I mentioned earlier, *Duplicate*
works perfectly well, which I hadn't used before, has less clicks and
appears more efficient, so no drama.
However it intrigues me why
Glad it fixed it.
For the next trick try running the budget reports, and let us know if they
look right. If they don't, don't panic, a fix is planned for 4.0.

It's set to Credit Accounts.
I set it to Income and Expense, and that fixed the signs on the Budget.
Excellent! Thank you.

By the way, if you do find them reversed after being imported, just edit
them to change the sign and make a mental note to do it the other way next
time.

No John, v 3.7 has been going fine ever since I installed it a few days
after it was released as an update from 3.6. I suspect it may have
something to do with the slew of Windows updates lately but I cannot
specifically put my finger on anything as Cut and Copy works OK on all
other apps. Maybe a
Greg,
Not sure if you saw my previous post.
Double-clicking the Description column header may not produce the desired
result. It will always adjust the column to allow all content to be visible.
This might remove padding and shrink the column to remove the scrollbar as you
describe, or it migh
I’m not versed on settings.ini syntax, but you might need to quote the font
name so it doesn’t see it as 2 fonts. ("Calibre 14" instead of “Calibre" and
“14")
Also, check your currency list in GnuCash and the assigned symbol for Rupee
there. It is possible to customize the unicode glyph. The wr
Welcome to GnuCash!
While you are reading the Tutorial, keep in mind that ‘account’ is not
something limited or special like a bank account. (which is just one type of
account) Your bank has a liability account in their books ‘with your name on
it’. (I put that in quotes because they likely use

Hi All,
A problem that's just occurred in the last couple of days is that I can no
longer *Copy* or *Cut* a full line account item as both the *Cut* and
*Paste* in the *Edit* tab are greyed out and therefore unusable, however
*Duplicate* works OK.
I am using Windows 10 and GNUcash V 3.7.

Axel,
When you double clicked the date column header, did you follow that with a
double click of the description column header?
If the date column is fully in view, but too narrow to display all of the
characters in the fields, double clicking its column header might have
widened the column, and
I tried the same.
First I ran a query in Google "fonts that support Rupee symbol". Got
confirmation that now windows came with support for Rupee symbol and we
could directly type rupee in applications like say Word - by typing 20b9
followed by Alt+x. So, by this logic, I thought if I change in set
I agree - ideally we could control which columns are used in invoices. I never
use most of them - they are just a waste of space.
As an alternative being able to set initial column width (in pixels, or
percent, etc.) would be a workaround as we could set columns to 0 or 1 if they
are not used
Anton,
The Deposit column generally works with bank account data with a single
column and positive and negative values. GnuCash will import both the debits
and credit information.

Anton,
You will find the GnuCash Tutorial and Concepts Guide
(https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v3/C/gnucash-guide/index.html) helpful in
explaining how GnuCash works. GnuCash is a full double entry accounting
system. In many other commercial products, the double entry nature, while
often present, is n
Hello
I'm trying to import my bank transactions, and generally this is working
well.
However, in the import wizard, on Import Preview screen, I'm asked to
"select a deposit or withdrawal column".
The problem is, the csv provided from bank has a single column for both. A
deposit is a positive numb

PS: the action for "Edit Account" also allows you to change what the parent

Once you move the parent Account for your bank account away from the
Income/Expense Accounts, it'll allow you to select Bank as the Account Type.
On Fri, Dec 13,
Account types may be set up as "Asset", "Liability", "Equity", as well as
others, including specifically "Bank".
