I am new to Gnucash and I am having problems with the installation. I had no
problem to download the app in my application folder, but I cannot keep it in
the dock and it does not appear in the launchpad. It stays in the dock as long
as the computer is on, but when I switch it off in the evenin

Rs,
I am not familiar with NSE India, but 125112 doesn't seem like a valid ticker
symbol. The NSE India website seems to use letter symbols; does the equity you
want have one?

Thanks John and David.
I could resolve this error by using correct script of NseIndia in Quote.pm

Chris,
There is a steep hill to climb to export history from a 'Q' program and
import it into GnuCash.
Many of GnuCash's current users felt that it was worth the effort to switch.
Even if you do not import any history, there is a learning curve to get
your account tree set up correctly, etc. Yo
Hi
Hopefully, I did this correct.
I am a treasurer of a not profit orgnization and need to decide on
using quickbooks or gnucash.
The currently use quickbooks but has be be redone.
What is your advice?

I still need an ATM or bank teller to deposit clients' checks to my

Rs,
I don't know exactly what your problem is, but I will ask the obvious: you *do*
have nseindia.pm in your installation? F::Q seems to be unhappy about that...
I also note that there is a F::Q mailing list to which you might also direct
your question. It's hosted through SourceForge.
David
Johnny,
I wish I could offer you some guidance, but I have none to offer, sorry.
Maybe you should switch to Windows... ;)
(Said because whenever someone on Windows has a problem, someone always seems
to suggest switching to Linux)

i'm not sure what's wrong, but gnucash no longer starts up for me. i've
attached the screen dump which may help someone smarter than me to
figure out what's happened.

After many adventures, and a full reinstallation of linux mint (this
time 64 bit, version 18.2), I am back at this impasse. I put the jar
file into the correctly named folder, but when I try to execute
