Once you entered these values, press calculate in Interest rate's field.

I registered in the expense account three times the amount of 509 CHF.
I wrote 509 without decimal digits. The result was, strangely enough, 1.527
and not 1527. Any idea?

I apologize for my previous E-mail. The problem was that my account is in
Swiss francs, but GnuCash insists on displaying the amount of money in
Italian Lire. It's clear that Italian Lire have no decimal digits and the
point separates the thousands and so on.

find it really very good. There is nevertheless a feature which I will
surely miss in the future and it is filing. I think it would be
nice if one could put all transaction with date before a certain time in a
separate file, say *.arch

after setting GNOME_PATH one should remove config.cache. Typically one
forgets to set the variable, then he sets it, runs ./configure again and
realizes that gtkhtml is not found yet :(. I think this step should
be added to the lib/README.
