just a dummy string? or 2) is there a better account type in Gnucash
to keep track of a club type investment?

f-q-h returns a closing price.
I don't honestly know which is preferable -- NAV or price with regards
to other securities. (Tiaacref only returns 1 number so they will
always be equal). I also don't know how this is reflected back in
gnucash if

would be checked against being on or after the user specified date.
Regardless of the implementation I think it would be useful to either
reset things at the end of the year or at least run reports, especially
once all of the tax forms come in for dividends, interes
s aren't even all that uncommon, I imagine they
get much more complicated as well.
Well, I guess I just added a long winded message to agree with
Christopher comment. But my point is that trying to make Gnucash as
robust tax wise as possible probably wouldn't be worth the time better
sp
individual register. I have no idea how hard that would be to add, and
it is not like pressing a hotkey is that onerous, but...
