I have started the process of using libglade to load our dialogs.
For some reason, the first 'make' after updating doesn't seem to
create src/gnome/gnc-dir.h correctly, so after the first make you
may need to delete that file and re-make.

I have read Bill's suggestions, and I thoroughly support
the concept of increasing modularity.
There are, however, a couple of related issues I'd like
to raise . . .
1) Are there self-contained parts of gnucash that we
could turn in to libraries, enabling their easy use in

I'm sure that there are, though I thi
I'm building 1.6.0 for the first time and have some weird error. It
looks like to me that the problem is that register-common.h, which is
included by several files, actually defines two functions itself (!)
This seems rather lame. Still investigating though...
Anyway here is the error:

As someone who also uses and is very fond of the
Paytrust system, all that I would ask is that security
be given very serious consideration. Having my bills
sent to another address is somewhat of a relief as I
don't have to worry about someone breaking into my
mailbox in the physical world and wo
Hi,
Two more build problems :-) The text-load-xml2 and test-xml2-is-file
tests are broken in 1.6.0. They want information from
test-files/xml2, but there is no test-files directory anywhere in the
distribution.

I just found out about this today, and maybe other people were wondering
about that too, so here's my solution:
In my locale (de_DE) the currency symbol (i.e. the german version of "$"
which is "DM") was printed in front of the amount without a seperating

FYI,
The www.gnucash.org connection has been saturated at max since
about 5 AM yesterday, although its finally beginnning to taper off.
The limit is about 300MB/hour.
Its been 34 hours.
Assuming an average download of 9MB (6MB for binary, 13 MB for source),
that represents about 1.1K downloa
Hi all!
I have been running GnuCash for a year now to handle my personal
finances. It has been no glitches affecting the correctness of the data
and I am very satisfied.
The only thing that have bothered me is that it has been very slow to
run over the network (10Mbps LAN), displaying on another
Hi again!
I have been running with default (english) locale until now. I thought I
would try out the swedish one. What I did was I executed "export
LANG=sv_SE" and then executed gnucash. Most of the things are right, but
the correct characters does not show up in some reports. Text only

Hi (yes, it's me again)!
When generating reports with graphics, the updating hangs until I move
the mouse or if I wait a minute or two. This also happens when double
clicking on a chart or pressing the back-button.

Here is an IRC conversation I had with goonie, grib and conrad on how to
solve a problem with performing a balance sheet report on a partial set
of accounts.
I have attached an example book which shows the problem. I have also
attached the reports file - it's name will have to be changed to

I am attaching a qif file (contains one transaction, generated by MS
Money 2000) importing this to an otherwise empty gnucash causes a fatal
error. I get the following on the terminal. This happens after pressing
next on the currency page (and answering all question with their
defaults).
