I built and installed readline-4.2-1mdk.src.rpm, ncurses-5.2-8.src.rpm, then
tried to build Guppi-0.35.5-1.src.rpm.
rpm -bb Guppi.spec

You should update your own `aclocal.m4' by adding the necessary
macro packages gettext.m4, lcmessage
I haven't looked at this since late February, when i started using the
--disable-guppi switch. Looking over my notes it went something like this:
The Guppi rpm and/or a few of it's dependencies of it required glibc-2.2.1.
with some trepidation, I upgraded from glibc-2.1.3. This did not go well,
