The first patch's main content was: -return (*((guint *) guid->data)); +return guid->data[0]; That was the real compile error. I removed the two static functions because they were functional duplicates of existing code and I thought it would be better to reduce code duplication

For the 2.2.X line of gnucash, the database is an encrypted XML file. For 2.3.X (unstable) which is leading to 2.4.0 (stable), we are adding support for an sqlite3, mysql or postgresql database. For 2.4.0, there will be no support for multiple users or for reloading a db after change i.e. if g
