I get the following error when I run configure on a fresh
svn checkout:
./configure: line 28021: ,: command not found
looking at the generated configure script I can see this corresponds
to the --enable-debug option processing.
I think it may have been caused by r17720 by cstim but I'm not sure
This bug is still affecting me in GC 2.2.7 on Mac OSX (Installed via Fink).

I'm assuming 2.2.8 and trunk still have the issue as well since the
status in Bugzilla is still Unconfirmed. I'd be interested in helping
roll this along through a fix p
