I have learned from "The Binary Idiot" blog, that in a multiple monitor
setup it is possbile to configure the workspace behavior in
gconf-editor. For the change to take affect you need to restart Gnome Shell.

I think at the summit someone proposed an X extension that would allow
us to provide "mouse walls" so you could hit the "Activities" corner
on every monitor easily. Additionally, there's been some talk of
getting a better window scale algorithm. (By the way, there's a small
easter egg that allows y
Hm, I don't think mouse acceleration is an appropriate solution for that
problem, since it messes up your accuracy.
Another thing came to my mind: What about the scaling? If you hit the
shortcut will it be triggered on both desktops? Or just on one with all
running apps?

Thats actually a pretty good idea but I tend to use the mouse. I dunno,
maybe because my mouse cord is longer than my keyboard's (ms comfort
curve 2000) and I'm often relaxed and leaned back in front of my Monitor
and therefore using my mouse a lot.
Other than that it would be more intuitive for b

Hi,
Sry for posting this to all members, I'm not used to mailings lists and
would rather prefer a forum but I'd like to share a thing with you, that

It most certainly does not assume that. See the links I already
posted in this thread, the design document,

There are many issues that arise when the design assumes that the user only
have one screen. Another example would be with the proposed removal of the
maximize button from the mutter borders. Instead of using the as proposed
removed maximize button, the user pushes the window up to the top edge of

Hi,
I would like to ask a simple question as I am not using Gnome Shell
for a few months. Back in September I could not move a window when in
Overview mode from screen 2 to screen 1. It just stayed where it is,
as opposed to mac osx where in Spaces mode you can move it, something

I have not been subscribed to this mailing list for very many days so
please forgive me if this has been already been discussed at length.
However, at the moment gnome shell does not work well with multiple
monitors. Gnome shell makes extensive uses of the idea of an "infinite
