my name is Nils-Christoph Fiedler, I am translating GNOME into "Low
German" for some weeks now.
I have the problem, that I can not reach the "Low German" team
coordinator Jürgen Lüters. (I have tried out several email adresses now.)

well, low german itself is understood by 10.000.000 (10 million) people
around the world and there are about 2 million native speakers! :-)
as you can see here:

An other thing:
Is it possible to define any other language as fallback for untranslated
strings, so that the user in the example of "Low German" wont get a mix
from low german and english strings, but a mix of low german and modern
german (de) strings in his/her interface?

Second: I would recommend to use the expression "Low German" instead of

committed some files, tracked by git.gnome.org logs, but vertimus
doesnt show those commits. (no %-state changes)

We had the same problem with editing fallback languages for the benefit
of some other one than English, too. For Low German it was / is useful
to set German instead of English as the first fallback.
