GNOME statistics word count

I tried searching through the archives for this, i found the same question but no answer. Is there a way to somehow extract the word count for all the po files at http://l10n.gnome.org/languages/mk/gnome-2-22 for example. Anyone did this before and maybe has a script that can do it? Any suggest
