I suppose it's to ping translators to check whether they need to change

Hi,
I'd like to fix bug 572807 [0].
Currently, g-s-d installs keyboard shortcuts that appear untranslated
(or rather, without any name at all) in the UI (Keyboard Shortcuts
dialog).
To fix that, we'd need to add three new GConf keys which would add
new strings for the descriptions and values. Th
