Even the subject
In Colors menu there are two invert positions, one is Invert and other
in Value invert.
For the first invert, the floating help says "Invert the colors".
For the second invert, the floatig help says "Invert the brightness of
each pixel".
My first question is why are the menu names not self-explai

I need to handle 4:3 or 16:9 images, all based on 720:576 pixels (D1
or anamorphotic). This means non-square pixel.
Is there a plugin available for GIMP to handle such particular format ?

Ok, the saved image has fewer colors (so it is no longer the perfect
original), but as it looks it has *never* been in JPEG format.

I need to make some simple rectangle buttons and the Filters -> Decor
-> Add Bevel... looks just what I need for. However, it only generates
a single direction of the bevel highlight and shadow sides.
How can I change the direction of where the light appears to come from ?
