Hi Everyone,
Pleased to be able to help with this one, it took me a while messing
around but I finally got it.
They cut out fine from GIMP, but always paste as a rectangular shape, i.e.
totally useless :-). It forced me to go back to MS Image Composer.

How can I configure GIMP to start up with a specific TOOL active? I
would like to establish "select rectangular region" as my default ACTIVE
tool upon GIMP startup, but even if I have that selected, close out and
reopen GIMP, it always starts up with the PAINTBRUSH tool activated.

Is there a way to apply a gradient to text, so only the letters get the
color, not the background in the text layer?

Easilly. Select only the letters and apply gradient on them. Assuming text
is on separate transparent layer, select that layer on Layers tab, and
then Layers>Transparency>Alpha to selection.

What about Gimp support for CMYK color mode? Have you discuss about it?
Will Gimp handle CMYK images? Can a graphic designer who works with CMYK
images to send to printer work with Linux and Gimp?
