Unfortunately, the info is not quite what i need: i blame this on my own
missing information.
The scanner is attached to a WinNT4 box (the last Win i have bought a lice

Most scanner software have a setting for negatives.
SANE does.

I run a GIMP 2.2.8 on a Mandriva 2006 box. And i just aquired a old flatbed
scanner, able to scan 24x36 negatives - of wich i have several thousands
