Claus - they're all waiting for you to offer to help code it.
It's open source. If there's a feature you'd really like to see,
contribute code or hire someone who can help. It's as simple as that.

Hi Daniel,
Adjustment layers do sound like a great idea but they're not a part of
the GIMP. I found a script-fu plugin that does something similar, but is
limited because it only allows the user to apply specific functions:

I find that copying the
p.org hosts only those tutorials that we were given permission to
reproduce.
this is how print permission and copyright works.

Can't imagine how that would make a difference at this stage.
Ok, that did it... I was not selecting the texture layer first, then the
bump map.
Very good. How can I save it out to be able to drop it over another
picture? Brush? I need to be able to resize

Here's a method I came across. Works quite well for certain photos...

I'm guessing that you're resizing your screenshots. Otherwise they'd be
as crisp as you see them on-screen.
If you must resize, use the Unsharp tool to sharpen them again. It works
quite well on textual/cartoony graphics and can be found at
Filters->Enhance->Unsharp Mask.

I've shot a few pseudo "IR" photos with my camera, a Sony F717 in
night-shot mode with only ND2 and polarizer filters. I have to shoot in
program mode and they're all hand-held which means relatively short
exposure times.
When it comes to the GIMP I use auto-levels, duplicate layer, mess with
