Hey all,
I was very happy to see that when I recently upgrade to the most current
gimp through ports on Mac OS X 10.6, I was able to successfully switch to
fullscreen view - something I missed a lot from when I was working on
Linux...
However, I'm running with two monitors, and the gimp always se

gimp open file - both are jpeg formats. Is this a layer thing? I tried
expanding the canvas size, but the images pasted into the file only appears
when dragged over the existing image...

Hi together,
I'm using Gimp for several years on an older Athlon with 1250 MHz. Now I
think I should buy some new hardware.
Runs Gimp with a quadcore or with an faster DualCore better? The system
will run on Linux Gentoo with 64bit.
What do you think?

Converting a dithered indexed image to RGB doesn't remove dithering. You
have to convert the original RGB image to

Hello,
png is lossless, so what you set is the compression factor, which doesn't
affect the quality/size ratio but s

PNG is a lossless image format, it doesn't have any quality settings.
The only thing you can adjust is the compression fact

Is it possible in gimp to separate the cursor from brush? It's very hard to
edit a photo/graphic with the cursor in the way (on top od the brush).

I'm currently writing a blog article on security online and I've created
some screen-shots, which I then scaled down (to 400 on the smallest
side, any smaller and it becomes completely useless to me) and used
"save as" to make a thumbnail copy while keeping the original[0-1].
