I know how to turn on Quick Mask and paint a selection -- turn it into
an alpha mask and save the image with the alpha mask and it works fine.
Where I get totally lost is when I want to re-edit (re-open the image) the image
later and change the alpha mask/channel.
I've googled for information but
And I haven't even opened it yet!
I recently went to open GIMP, and right when I thought GIMP had finished

Tell me exactly how I would install those scripts in 2.6.5 and beyond

Just installed GIMP 2.6.5 for Windows. As usual after installing any
GIMP version in any system, I tried to recover a script-fu I
programmed months ago. I simply unzipped it into
%HOME%\.gimp-2.6\scripts and restarted the GIMP. I open an image and
try to apply the script, and I notice there no long
