I took this from a `top` listing. I'm trying to emerge
sys-devel/gcc-4.1.1-r3 on my server box. The merge hasn't moved much in
the last twenty hours, and, if I'm reading this right, this single
compile has been run
I'm fed up with this. I've restarted the emerge of gcc-4.1.1-r3 on my
server box four times now. It always gets to compiling insn-attrtab.o
and then it never stops. I even went into the Makefile to find the
exact command used to compile this particular object file and ran the
command manually.

My personal account (michael) cannot offload pictures from my usb
digital camera - only root can do it. michael is in the usb group.
There used to be a file called /etc/security/console.perms which allowed
the michael user to offload pictures, but it's gone now. How can I make

You were right. I went back into the database and granted all on
mythconverg.* to camille.espersunited.com and catherine
I recorded a two-hour movie off telivision this evening. I watched it
and it looks fine, but the file size is really big: 4.3GB. Is this
normal? As I said, the file was recorded by mythtv; it has a .nuv
extension. I didn't recognize that extension, so I looked at its
properties in nautilus. P

My MythTV is working pretty well, except that my wife and I can't watch
Live TV on our own PC's at the same time, but only having one TV card I
don't think there's a way around that. One problem wae are having is
that the brightness level on Live TV and on the recordings MythTV makes
is too high.

My clock applet in GNOME keeps dying. I tried re-emerging
gnome-applets. After it got finished re-emerging I issued a killall
gnome-panel, but when it reloaded the clock still crashed. Any advice

Something funky is going on with my nautilus. In gconf-editor for
nautilus, I have the always_use_browser checkbox checked, but my
nautilus window is not showing browser mode. I prefer to have the
address bar. Nautilus froze up and I issued a killall for it, and when
it reloaded it was like this
I'm having some trouble with Squirrelmail since the recent PHP upgrade.
On almost every folder I click on in Squirrelmail (including the Inbox),
I get this:
