Hi,
i installed the newest firefox and (www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.5.4)
and if i touch the menu or if i want to use the contextual menu then the
browser freezes. I made already revdep-rebuild.
Any idea?

as i noticed the directory /usr/portage/distfiles holds all installed
sources. What i want to do is modifying the code and reinstalling the
package. What is the simplest way? Is it possible without modifying the
ebuild? (i dont want to use make and 'make install' directly)

i want to setup selinux, but it seems to failure because of no
installable tools and libs.
All necessary packages are masked by
/usr/portage/profiles/default/linux/package.mask and no alternative libs
and tools are within reach.
How can i solve this problem?

it is very amiga like: the only thing working after starting
radiant (gtkradiant) is the mouse pointer, but no window can be moved,
closed, no workspace switched, no keyboard input leads to any reaction.
I was running revdep-rebuild, but the problem still exists.

how is it possible to reinstall an older Package from
/usr/portage/distfiles/, when the corresponding
ebuild /usr/portage///.ebuild
does not longer exists? Is there an option, to keep older
ebuilds intact during emerge --sync?

=sys-libs/readline-5* required by (dev-lang/ghc-6.8.2::gentoo, installed)
(sys-libs/readline-6.2_p1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled
in by =sys-libs/readline-6
