I've noticed this too, on other distros as well (mint being the main focus
as my daily driver) not put too much thought into it as it didn't affect me
too badly but would love to see a resolution to the issue

Microsoft to my knowledge is no longer developing / supporting teams for
linux, hence why I am using it via Chrome these days - the Linux version

Most live CD's these days will come with memtest86 as a boot option,
that would give your RAM a good
