Is there some utility (console or otherwise) that could indicate me
NOT the output/input read/write and miscellanea, but simply which
files are currently being written to the disk. Sometimes my browser
(Opera) downloads some big temporary files, and usually I have a difficult
time locating

Typing "id" on a terminal on my gnome desktop gives the following - but
when I insert a dvd I get "not authorised to mount ..." in a popup.

still trying to accomplish this setup:
- spamassassin / spamd to filter out spam
- using berkdb as bayes db
- giving user "nobody" as less rights as possible
- spamd running under "nobody" rights
- sa-learn started by me (user mccramer)
- sa-learn will learn spam mails received and owned by me

For a long time I've just put up with the inconvenience or of users
not being able to write to mounted filesystems on windows hosts.
But sometimes is a real pain.
I've never known for certain if linux users (non-root) can actually
write to windows shares.
