Hi,
A couple of things stand out here to me:
- Your mentors need to be IPMC members.
- It would be helpful to include mentors who are not all affiliated with one
company
- It would be helpful to know what the existing PMC and the wider community
think about this reboot. It may be there’s no one
+1 to JB's comments. The project is open but the original set of folks who
actually worked on the code seem to have moved on. So there is a bit of a
struggle to keep the project code moving.
The mailing lists are also quiet, perhaps because the project is mature. So

Abstract
Livy is a web service that exposes a REST interface for managing long
running Apache Spark contexts in your cluster. With Livy, new applications
can be built on top of Apache Spark that require fine grained interaction

That should be reviewed at graduation time.
A PPMC has no formal power, so cannot cause any harm to the Founda

Mostly to keep it in line with what PMC’s do, it also simplifies the process.

Hi,
If a podling can’t get sign-off from their mentors (and this continually
happens) then they need to find and/or replace their existing mentors.
Kind Regards,

Yes I did see that, but it would still be nice if the project did submit a
report as they have missed multiple reports in a row. What was discussed on
list about the project would be good mater
I have a simplified proposal nearly ready to send. Since there weren't any
requirements for it provided here it is just declaring the intent and new
members from this thread and my employer.
If there is anything else you'd like to see in it just let me know.

There's no need to reestablished the podling as it's still running ;)
I think we can just update the original proposal, reshape the PPMC and
move forward.
Thoughts ?

I’m a bit worried that in contrast to PMCs PPMCs are usually not quite familiar
with how things work at Apache.
Would we still have an option to intervene, if for example one PPMC bunch adds
people from the same company, for example?

Hi Justin,
Any chance to re-establish podding or add some members to existing
community so that it can be active ,as we can see so many people are
interested to contribute to Livy podling?
