JSR-173 fits very well with the cursor-style strategy on the store. This is especially true of 173's XmlStreamReader interface - it can avoid object creation when iterating through XML. We've been closely reviewing the JSR and providing feedback to the EG. 173 hasn't gone final yet, but we'll be

Thanks to all of you for the many offers to help us get things started with XMLBeans. It sounds like it might be easier for everyone if we now pick one project that we believe would be the best fit for XMLBeans. From talking with a few committers, I think we are leaning towards the XML project,
