gEDA-user: Configuring PCB for out of source builds?

In the current build system for PCB is there a way to run ./configure that will handle out-of-source builds? I'm missing it if it is in there. I want to be able to build Windows, GTK and Lesstif versions of PCB out of the same source tree, without 'make clean' cycles all of the time. ___
