Anyway, I think the patch in comment #2 qualifies as obvious, and has no

For the ix86/x86_64 alignment issue, I believe the problem here is that
max_align = MAX (crtl->max_used_stack_slot_alignment,
PREFERRED_STACK_BOUNDARY);
is fine for !SUPPORTS_STACK_ALIGNMEN

They are not, as there, afaik, are no simplifiers yet.
Hence, with your patch they will be accepted, but you'd end up with wrong code
at the end, as the functions are not properly simplified and thus not constant.

DECL_ALIGN of d is set to 128 (but appearantly it isn't ensured it'll end up
that way). DECL_ALIGN is adjusted here:
Old value = 32
New value = 128
